The Saratoga School of Dance provides a family oriented, child friendly environment for students from the age of 16 months to adults of all ages. We hold an annual recital in June. We actively seek other performance opportunities for our students. For example, we perform in the San Jose Dance Company Festival and dance with the Moscow Ballet in The Great Nutcracker.
Dance is in our DNA and we want to make it a part of our community. Typically students thrive with us for many years. Students benefit from the formal technique training and gain confidence, poise, and discipline.
We emphasize age appropriate techniques. Although we are not a competition school, we offer competition options. Our students are well grounded in formal technique and are fully prepared to compete if they choose.

Miss Terry & Saratoga School of Dance have been a special part of our lives for the last 19 years! My son started dancing at age 4 and my youngest daughter (now 16 yrs old) has been taking classes with Miss Terry since she was 18 months old! Miss Terry makes every dancer feel special & cared about and she builds confidence in even the most timid of dancers. Her love of dance inspires young dancers, and her enthusiastic teaching style encourages dancers to do their best while having fun.
Both my daughters love Saratoga School of dance! The girls have taken ballet, tap, and hip hop classes and attended summer camps. All the teachers are amazing! Miss Terry, Miss Valerie and Miss Peggy are not only all phenomenal dance teachers but wonderful personal mentors. My daughters learned dance technique and music appreciation, as well as how to collaborate and listen to others. All the teachers are incredibly patient and knowledgable. My daughters have very different personalities and they both found a home at Saratoga School of dance. I can't think of anyone else I would rather have teach my children.
Miss Valerie’s creativity & exuberance have helped to expand the diverse repertoire of dance taught by Saratoga School of Dance. My daughter cannot get enough dance classes! From ballet to tap to hip hop, jazz and theatrical – she loves it all. I have watched her grow from a shy and anxious budding dancer into a confident and passionate performer. So much credit goes to Miss Terry & Miss Valerie for supporting her and encouraging her for all these years.<br />
Both of my children started lessons with Miss Terry’s school when they were just 1 year old. Miss Terry teaches proper dance technique but in a lower pressure, more enjoyable environment than many other studios. My son Parker, who took dance with Miss Terry for many years, has gone on to play Billy in Billy Elliot the Musical all over the country. While my daughter, Payton, has combined her dance training with her other passion, gymnastics, and is currently a competitive gymnast. In addition to their annual recital, The Saratoga School of Dance has also been the local school that partners with the Moscow Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker each year. This is an incredible opportunity for your children to dance alongside Russian ballet professionals and perform in major venues! Whether your child wants to build coordination and confidence, or become a professional dancer, Miss Terry and Miss Valerie will give them the education and support they need to reach their goals! My now 12 year old daughter had long been wanting to take dance lessons. I researched different dance schools and options. After a referral from a good friend we settled on Saratoga School of Dance. My friend had wonderful things to say about Miss Terry and Miss Valerie. I signed my daughter up for Hip-Hop/Jazz. Miss Valerie welcomed her with open arms. It is such a positive and nurturing environment. My daughter couldn’t get enough and wanted to sign up for additional classes. She had found a place and a sport she loves. Per Miss Valerie’s recommendations she also signed up for ballet with Miss Terry. In a short time my daughter has grown and flourished in this wonderful environment. After just over a year at Saratoga School of Dance my daughter is now enrolled in Hip-Hop/Jazz, Ballet, Tap private lessons and a Tap invitational class. Miss Valerie and Miss Terry’s loving, enthusiastic, and professional guidance has inspired my daughter to excel tremendously in a short amount of time. Thank you!!!
My daughters have been students at the dance school for 6 years, since they were toddlers. To say that the Saratoga Rec Dep't is our second home would be an understatement! The Saratoga School of Dance has been an integral part of their childhood and growing up, and we adore Miss Terry, Miss Valerie and Miss Peggy and the role they have played in our daughters' lives in helping them grow to become confident and poised young ladies. The instructors are so incredibly patient with all the children that come through their school, and give each one personal attention and tons of encouragement. We have taken many classes with Miss Terry and Miss Valerie, and they have been such a warm, supportive and constant presence and role models in my girls’ lives, encouraging them to push themselves hard, but also to have lots of fun. I love that the dance school allows the kids to be kids, and lets the kids have fun while also learning dance skills and offering them new opportunities to excel. I see a lot of other dance schools that are so regimented and serious, and I know that my kids would not have thrived in that type of environment. My older daughter recently participated in her first dance competition and it was an amazing experience and fueled her energy and enthusiasm for dance even more. The school has really fostered a love of and joy for dance in both of my girls, as well as instilling more grace and confidence in them both. They are so proud to wear their dance gear and I expect the Saratoga School of Dance will be part of our lives for many years to come!
