We make learning dance fun. The curriculum was created to encourage age appropriate creativity, musicality, and physicality. Your child will dance and have fun with an emphasis on the foundations. Dancers will be brought through creative movement and basic steps and more!
What are the key features of musical theatre dance?
This style trains dancers to create a cohesive artistic expression, a wide ranger of emotions and character nuances. Choreographed sequences tell a story and are designed to express music and lyrics. At the core, musical theatre dance combines elements of jazz, ballet, tap, and hip-hop. Our dance center combines strong technical training with storytelling, experienced instructors, and performance opportunities. Let me emphasize: dancing in theater is about telling a story.

Well Rounded Students
A good music theatre dance class includes a thorough warm-up, technique building, and choreography. Any choreographer of musical theater has their own flavor so the ability to pick up steps and switch up styles and expression is important. All of our training is age-appropriate and are suited to the student’s physical, social, and emotional levels. We try to keep class size smaller and allow for individual attention and feedback.
Also, we offer students a homework lounge and parents are welcome to view classes from the back of the room.

Strong technical training
Combines the artistry of ballet barre exercises with strength and conditioning. Saratoga School of Dance music theatre classes develop a foundation of strong technical training and storytelling. Students learn ballet as a core skill because poise, strength, and technique is a wonderful foundation for any musical theater performer. New musicals often feature ballet (and en pointe). Performance Opportunities
If you want to train in this style, choose a center that offers opportunities to perform - this is critical. Saratogo School of Dance has an annual showcase and actively seeks out community events, competitions, and workshops. We also seek out opportunities to dance with or along side professional dancers, such as the Moscow Ballet's Nutcracker.
