Important Aspects to Know

Every team member must be enrolled in two dance classes per week. One of the classes they take must be ballet. (If it's a ballet, tap, combo class, that will count as a ballet requirement.) The second class can be whatever you like. For example, the student may be enrolled in a ballet, tap, combo class, plus a Jazz/ hip-hop class. One class might be in Los Gatos with Ms. Terry, and another class in Saratoga. They must also be in a Team class which will meet once a week.

Here are the different styles of dance that we'll be doing at the audition: ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and tap.

Parents Responsibilities

We are planning for the team to do two competitions at the regional level. (There is a possibility of them going on to Nationals, which could be held in another part of the country.) Most of the competitions are local. However, if we make it to nationals they tend to be in LA or Las Vegas, Nevada.

If your child auditions in the fall and is offered and accepts a spot on the team, you must agree to commit to participating for the whole year! If, for any reason, you decide not to continue through the year, you'll be charged $75.

Families are responsible for transportation to and from events.

Associated Costs

Children on dance team will need to purchase from three to four costumes. You will pay for the costumes at the beginning the season.

Dancers are required to have two pairs of jazz shoes (one tan and one black) as well as a pair of pink ballet shoes and a pair of black tap shoes. Tap shoes must be a particular style, so miss Terry or I will assist you in finding them.

There are registration fees for entering the competitions.
